In order to understand the technical level of the coal testing laboratory in the vitrinite random reflectanceand maceral testing project, and improve the ability of coal petrographic analysts to identify maceral, the coal petro⁃graphic analysis capability verification plan was carried out. The organization has prepared a batch of coal petrograph⁃ic analysis samples according to the national standard,evaluated the uniformity and stability according to the relevantstandards,formulated the operation instructions,and randomly distributed them to the participants together with thesamples.The “algorithm A” in robust statistical analysis is used to determine the specified value and standard devia⁃tion for capability evaluation of vitrinite random reflectance and maceral determination results of coal,and the z ratio isused to evaluate the detection capability of the laboratory.A total of 21 laboratories participated in the random reflec⁃tance measurement of coal vitrinite, and 20 laboratories were satisfied with the results, with a satisfaction rate of95. 24%.Thirteen laboratories participated in the determination of macerals,among which one was dissatisfied with thedetection results of vitrinite group and minerals,with a satisfaction rate of 92. 31%. The satisfaction rate of exinitegroup was 100%,while 1 is dissatisfied and 1 has issues in the inertinite group,with a satisfaction rate of 84. 62%.Thestatistical analysis results show that most laboratories can accurately determine the vitrinite reflectance and maceralcontent of coal,and only a few laboratories have large deviations from the specified values.Unsatisfied laboratories needto be analyzed and rectified according to the technical suggestions provided,while strengthening personnel training incoal petrology and improving their level of component identification can help obtain satisfactory results.
